I Love You, Papa

Happy 60th birthday, papa.. :)

Today is 22-02-2012 and it's my dad's birthday. If you like the number 2.., then you'll like today. hehehe... You know, number 2 is unique and fun. It's the only prime even number. Anyway.., enough about the number. On my dad's birthday, it happened that my dad is fasting. At the same time, it's on Ash Wednesday too.. so I'm abstaining too. And therefore, there was no big celebration what so ever, even tho it's his big six zero. We were celebrating it in a very simple way but intimate. Just 4 of us- my dad, mom, me, and my cousin Andre. It was good.. we had a lot of things to talk about.

As in for me..., I'm simply thankful for having a father like my dad. Someone that I can looked up as he is wise, liberal, and very patient. Ou not to forget, a good listener too. So.. here's for you, dad.. Cheers for you.. and Happy Birthday.. I wish you all the best in all !!!

Little Miss Mischief

It's all started with a friend's request for her birthday gift. She asked for an artwork (any artwork). To think of that, I haven't really do painting for a lonnnnggg time.. well except a few last year :) .. aniway.., here's the deal. I don't have the confidence to do it. But.. , since it's for a good friend.. and good friend always accept your artwork no matter how ugly it is, I ended up creating this little miss mischief character.

Landscape of Diversity

Alur's Landscape of Diversity is finally arrived in Jakarta !!!
The exhibition is arranged by JERIN (Germany Embassy Cultural Quarter in Indonesia) to celebrate the living heritage of batik. The exhibition is mainly focusing on batik collection of Iwan Tirta Foundation. And the aim is to promote the cultural value of Indonesian batik. Alur, a young architects team, joined the exhibition by contributing the element of batik on architecture. The idea is to implement the concept of batik not just on cloth, but on architectural sculpture. Originally, this sculpture is part of the Indonesian Embassy of UK project for the Architectural Biennale in London (http://www.lfa2010.org/event.php?id=111&name=indonesia_landscape_of_diversity). Although there was a bit of delay of the arrival of the sculpture, we are still happy that it finally landed in National Gallery of Indonesia already.

And so for the ALUR team; Prama Milyardi, Rizki Nindito, Ardes Perdhana, Olivia Putihrai, Monique Suksmaningsih, dan Kuncara Wicaksana, big cheers to you guys...!!! --harumkan nama Indonesia through architecture and batik culture--

Balinese Sunset

About a week ago I visited Bali with some of my old school friends.. It was for a wedding. I stayed in with 5 girlfriends.. yeah.. that make it sounds like our villa is a girls den, which is true.. It was fun. We've done some girly stuff.., that I haven't done nor enjoy for a very long time. At the beginning, it needs some adjustment. I guess it is because my adrenalin was too high for the activities.. and I just couldn't stay still.. ahhahaha

Bali is very fun .. esp when you can have a lazy afternoon and enjoying sunset with cocktails.. heavenly :)

Faces of Yogyakarta

Other than its artifacts and nature, Yogyakartans fascinated me as well. Yes, I love taking candid photos of people. I love to see their expressions. I think I can create new character for them... and story too... but that will make it fiction. For now, I will just show the pics without wordings. And I know this may not represents  the entire Yogyakartans (as Yogya is a city), but I just like to see humbleness in photos :) And ou I add a pic of a cat too.. ups
